French North African unit senior Officer's kepi Good scarce stiffened body of post-WW1 style, pale blue cloth with red top and upper part, which is encircled by four rows of gold Russia braid. Top bears an intricate figure in fine Russia and front bears a crescent in gold embroidery. Gold lace chinstrap with plain gilt buttons. Flat patent leather peak. Silk lining bears supplier’s gold stamp: BANDALUM / INDEFORMABLE. The crescent is associated with Algerian and Moroccan Spahis and Tirailleurs among other units.
