Irish King County Royal Rifles Militia Victorian Officer shako plate. Fine rare die-stamped silvered crowned star mounted with KINGS COUNTY RIFLES strap with Maid of Erin Harp to centre. One of two screw posts. VGC Raised in 1776 as Parsonstown Loyal Independent Volunteer Corps; 1793 redesignated King County Royal Rifles Militia under Lord Rosse; became 3rd Bn. Leinster Regt. on 1st July 1881. Gordon Cummings Collection.
