Dorset Rifle Volunteers Edwardian Officers pouch belt plate circa 1901-08.
Fine scarce die-stamped silver plated Maltese cross, surmounted by a crowned blank tablet, bearing PRO PATRIA circlet wih central 16 within strung bugle. Arms bear DORSET RIFLE VOLUNS.; fasces to bottom arm.
Three screw posts VGC
Became a VB of the Dorsetshire Regt. on 1st July 1881 but continued under its rifle volunteer status. Provenance, Ex Hugh King Collection.
