VB Manchester Regiment Victorian Officers pouch belt plate circa 1881-88.
Good scarce die-stamped silvered crowned Maltese cross, lions between the arms, bearing circlet FROM ACORNS SPRING OAKS; Arms of Manchester on trophies of war to voided centre with mirrored backing plate.

Various Lancashire RVCs consolidated in 1880 to form 21st Lancashire RVs. Renumbered as 4th on 3rd September 1880. Became a VB of the Manchester Regt. on 1st July 1881, redesignated as 1st VB on 1st September 1888. Provenance, Ex Hugh King Collection.
